NFT Shower Thoughts (12/7/22)

Not much new going on in the space today. If you search “NFT” on Twitter it’s still a bunch of retweet and follow giveaways. Until this gets fixed people are not going to genuinely want to discuss the topic. It’s kind of like seeing bots on instagram, nobody enjoys it.

Speaking of apps, how about Coinbase being restricted by Apple!

Wtffff I know I’m a couple days late to it but the more I read about it the more it blows my mind.

iOS users will be unable to send NFTs from their wallets on iOS devices anymore. Apple also blocked their latest app update. Coinbase cited the the main reason for this was,

“…the gas fees required to send NFTs need to be paid through their In-App Purchase system so that they can collect 30% of the gas fee.”

I’m not sure who made this decision but with all due respect, it’s clear that they haven’t done their due diligence on the space. More so, I personally believe its an extremely greedy for a company of that degree.

But thats how the rich stay rich, right?

Any person who understands how NFTs and the blockchain work knows Apple’s request is impossible.

I wonder if they’ll hire a Web3 or blockchain consultant anytime soon. They may not have much skin in the game right now which means our beloved Mark Zuckerberg is running laps on them on that respective end. More on that tomorrow.
